Atelier Leon is een participatief dansatelier voor kinderen, jongeren en volwassenen. Los van bestaande rolpatronen nodigt Leon je uit om jezelf te tonen via dans en beweging. Danservaring is niet vereist en ook inschrijven is niet nodig. Kom gewoon meedoen.

Summertime is a period buzzing with dance activities and new encounters. You can find Leon in public space and join the free dance ateliers with live music, open for all ages.

For children, we organize week-long creative workshops. We move, we play, we dance, we explore, we connect, we learn, we create.

Leon n'est pas seulement là pour le temps libre. Les ateliers de danse peuvent également être suivis durant les heures de cours. En collaboration avec les enseignant·es, Leon travaille sur des objectifs de développement tels que les compétences socio-émotionnelles, la citoyenneté et les compétences linguistiques.

Leon deliberately wants to leave room for new needs and desires. Under the umbrella 'White Page', Leon is always looking for new relationships and connections, for sharing stories and experiences based on equality. Together, we can enhance social cohesion in our society.

Met dans als bindmiddel wil Leon een hefboom zijn voor sociale verandering en inclusie. Veel mensen vinden de weg naar het culturele aanbod niet. Of ze willen wel deelnemen, maar worden verhinderd door een beperkte mobiliteit.

Daarom draaien we het om: in plaats van hen naar ons te laten komen, gaan wij naar hen. Met onze cargofiets, getransformeerd tot mobiele dansstudio, brengen we Atelier Leon tot op pleinen, in zorgcentra en buurten. Zo maken we dans echt toegankelijk.

Lots of organisations see Leon as a suitable partner for an artistic intervention. Although the long and slow processes are the focus, Leon believes it is essential to also share moments of public presentation at the right time and in the right context. The form of these interventions can vary between open ateliers and rehearsals, a try-out or even a large-scale participatory performance like Mariage.
